Do you know how the fiber optic cable model is named? GM stands for mobile optical cables for communication, GJ stands for optical cables for communication rooms (offices), GS stands for optical cables for communication equipment, and F stands for non-metallic strengthening members. What is the color spectrum of fiber optic cables?
The naming method of optical cable model (YD/T908-2000)
1. The type of optical cable consists of five parts
Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ
I. Indicates the type of optical cable
GY--Outdoor Optical Cable for Communication
GJ--Indoor optical cable
MG--Optical Cable for Coal Mine
Ⅱ. Strengthening member type
(No model)-Metal strengthening member
F--Non-metal strengthening member
Ⅲ. Structural features
D--Optical fiber ribbon structure
(Unsigned)-Loose tube layer twisted structure
X--Center tube structure
G--Skeleton structure
T--filled
Z-flame retardant structure
C8--8-shaped self-supporting structure
Ⅳ. Protective layer
Y--Polyethylene sheath
W-entrained steel wire-polyethylene bonding sheath
S-Steel-Polyethylene Bonding Protective Layer
A--Aluminum-Polyethylene Adhesive Protective Layer
V--PVC sheath
Ⅴ. Outer protective layer
53-Corrugated steel tape longitudinally wrapped armored polyethylene sheath
23-Wrapped steel tape armored polyethylene sheath
33-Thin steel wire wrapped armored polyethylene sheath
43-Thick steel wire wrapped armored polyethylene sheath
333-Double-layer thin steel wire wrapped armored polyethylene sheath
2. Representation of optical cable specifications
The specifications of the optical cable are expressed according to the number of optical fibers contained in the optical cable and the type of optical fiber.
Example: 4 G. The cable specification of 652 single-mode optical fiber is expressed as 4B1.1 or 4B1. If there are different types of optical fibers in the same optical cable, they shall be connected with the number’+’ in the middle of the specification.
If it contains 4 multimode 50/125 fibers, it is expressed as 4A1a or 4A1.
