This program helps to learn the basic operation of the software. A simple yttrium-doped fiber amplifier is designed.
Both the pump light and the signal light are transmitted in a single-mode fiber. Each wave symbolizes an optical channel. The script program defines the Gaussian distribution and the mode distribution under a given radius.
In this model, the amplified spontaneous emission is not considered. Therefore, if the input optical power is reduced, the single channel gain is higher and the mode becomes invalid.
